DRAGONBOATERS! HUAT AH!

this is the first time i've worked so hard and even though i want to give up, strive till the end. and the first time i've gotten so wet just to try and win a competition.

got to school at like 7+ and on the way smsed darren cause yt never reply me. well. first of all he scared me when he said 'we' were supposed to assemble at 6.55. and it WAS 6.55 and i was still on the bus. later on. i found out 'we' meant ncc land. darn.

went up to get my physics book, rushed to get yt's chem and ss. and then went down. met yt who thought e books were too heavy and wanted to go up to put her ss.

when she and gina got down, we left for bedok reservoir.

bus ride was boring. cept that i heard jillian saying smtg bout 'you hua hao hao shuo'
the show where mediacorp artistes are supposed to teach foreigners how to speak chinese.
artiste : (brings out lion head) this is lion
foreign : oh! same as english! =]

lmao.

reached there round..
1/2 hr later?
lotsa ppl were there le...

first up. trial round.
we were in the second batch.
and the guys were a match directly after us.

so while waiting for the first one to be over, we coordinated our strokes. were planning on 'one and pull! two and pull! ...'
heard the guys (back pair shout 'ONE!' and the rest shout 'PULL!') and adapted theirs.
ended up just everyone shout 'ONE PULL! ONE PULL!'

so it was our turn. LANE FOUR!
got into life jackets and got our paddles. only to walk to the boats and see that we have to step INTO the water to get on cause the can't bring the boats too near the shore. and neither could they use the dock cause if you need to load 5 boats at the same time, it's not possible using only ONE dock.

so my left shoe got ALL wet.

and we rowed. with the help of our drummer (i dunno her name.. haix.) nd our [guy at the back steering the boat] what was his name? desmond. we made it there in awhile.

overshot the line and had to back paddle. damn the thing cause as we were back paddling and holding the boat, they started the race. and we were late cause the force was still moving us BACKWARDS!

ah well. after rowing like mad. we came in 4 out of 5. when i was getting out of the boat, i landed wrong foot and wet the whole of my RIGHT foot. so now both shoes were wet.

and the boys turn. they did well. considering they were up against BUKIT PANJANG GOVT. HIGH. i think they have their own team. they were like DAMN fast.

so our guys came in 4th. out of 4.

not bad though, their timing was still faster than ours.

the ncc guys have this weird kou hao. that has SOMETHING to do with HUAT AH! [prosper in hokkien] so we started huat-ing when ever we went out or they went out for competition.

took a rest and started the HEATS. the guys had sometime to get to tp and buy some stuff so i got darren to buy me some tidbits. sandwiches sold out, potato chips sold out. left with a pack of roller coasters. so.. yeah

while reporting, mindy was making us laugh cause she was saying that 'fingernails' in malay is 'kuku' and her friend would look at her and ask. 'mindy! why never cut your kuku?!?' haha.

you should have seen the fight of hai dai quan between sherfeng and yilin. sherfeng lost to yilin 3 times in a row. and all at the FIRST round. haha.

see the thing is. we were confident in getting at least second. but the idiotic thing. was that...
we were sang-geh. so when the line was supposed to be crossed this way. we crossed the other way and ended up 4th instead of 2nd as we had thought. [from the boat].

our timing was 2.20. improved by 15 secs. but still 4th.

the guys had it pretty tough and despite getting 1.57, they were still fourth.

so... we were into PLATE finals.
and competition initially was believed to be weak. but no matter how weak, we would do our best.

rest timing from heats till finals had some time so we went to temasek poly to get some food.
there were stalls like.
drinks and desserts.
chinese cooked food.
noodles.
indian-muslim cuisine.
seafood delights.

i ate too full. shared ban mian with yuanting. their servings are like WOAH. small army.
was like bloated. but it wasn't that bad.
rested and prepared for plate finals.

we got there and found out we weren't getting the same ppl as before cause we had changed to lane three. so we requested for desmond and [unamed] to do a switcheroo and they came over! =]

so well we went to starting point [which is at the OTHER end of the reservoir] and on the way, desmond gave some tips. LEAN your body.

took some time to adjust the front and backs and then. WE WERE OFF! it was the worst i'd ever paddled. but i think we wasted too much energy and started knocking each other towards the last 50m. everything got wet. and worse, i didn't care. water was going everywhere and i think i'm going to have a sore throat.

but still after all that! we lost by 1 sec!!!!!! damn. i'm so damn fed up. that is like the shittiest thing that can happen to a competor. darn.

we got in on 2.13 e other one. 2.12. damn. i hate that feeling.

the guys. hurm... they did okay. they weren't last.. that's for one. they got in on 1.3 MUCH faster. finally into the ones.

and just like b4, as we had started, we were huat-ing all the way when they came back, and they were huat-ing on their way back.

mr. tan treated us to drinks 'cause we deserved it' and we were back on our way. had already changed into slippers and my feet looked like wrinkled sausages.

got back for prize presentation and got the stupid medal. i hate that colour. [fyi. all ppl get medals. including e lasts.] the thing that sucks is that. if we were in cup finals we would have gotten 2nd with our timing. damn.

took pics and then went back. it started drizzling on the way and we started running. someone behind said. 'bu ke yi pao! yao yong gun de!'
and me and yt were laughing.

passed by a blk FIFTYSIX 56! somewhere on CTE. nice.....

on the bus, i fell asleep and i used my hand to prop my head up. my phone was in my hand and as i started to lose my use of muscles, my phone fell.

onto my lap. haha. damn. and i was TELLING myself that i was going to drop it.
just like the cramping issue where when i was streatching in bed. my sub-concious mind was telling me. you're SOO gonna cramp.

got back sch. went up to get wksheets and then left. they were having oral so we had to make a whole round to get to our class.

then i got back home and prepared for tuition then left and tuition-ed and waited for parents. they had dissapeared. haha. and then ate dinner came back took shower. then watched e last part of initial d. and now i'm blogging. =]

that's all. i'm tired. but i'll still do something. like watch e mo. haha.

suddenly. i ahve this sense of attraction towards edison and ming dao.
